I received an email of Daily Health Bulletin today. It really surprising me!... I am a hardcore laptop user and never thought that the laptop can spread disease that can lead to SKIN CANCER.. According to a Journal published in Nov 2010, there was a case of a 12 year old boy who developed a sponge a sponge-patterned discoloration on his left thigh.
He had played computer games on a laptop, resting it on his upper legs for a few hours a day for several months in a row. Just as laptops are intended to be used, and are being used by millions of us. The boy's condition carries a technical name erythema ab igne, and a more pronounceable one - toasted skin syndrome.
The condition can bring permanent darkening of the skin, and in rare cases, cause damage that can be serious enough to lead to skin cancer. You may notice a mild red, blotchy rash... or a general redness of the skin in the affected area. There can be mild itchiness and a burning sensation, or no bothersome feeling at all. The skin may be a brownish, toast like shade. Daily Health Bulletin.
