12:45PM A VISIT TO REMEMBER LOK KAWI ZOO SABAH

Howdy,
For the first time I managed to bring my family for the vacation trip after 4 years being working outstation. Our trip to Kota Kinabalu Sabah, October 2010 brought some enjoyment to my kids. Kota Kinabalu is a nice city. Well planned township flooded with commercial investment coming from the West Malaysian. Its good for the economic growth to KK but not to its people .. I think too tolerate with foreign investors may cause loss of opportunities to natives and local people of Sabah.. I dont want to say in details as it will stir some negative impression to what I am written here. But to be fair, I of the opinion that the Sabah State Government should consider to control the influx of West Malaysian businessmen from monopolizing the state economic. Unlike Sarawak, Sabah has more development going on here and there and it boost the state economy. But one thing for sure, Sabah has another challenging thing to handle... Illegal immigrant from Phillipine and Indonesia somewhat hinder the progression of its night time business.

During my visit to KK last time, I heard some visitors has been robbed by a group of Filipino at the night market. I can really observed that there were less policemen working at night time there except patrolling using police car... Something need to be improved.. Hopefully. Because I plan to go to KK again soon. Mayb this time by road. Take two weeks leave. Besides, this upcoming trip is also part of the our family program to attend my brother in law's wedding. Spending 5 days in KK was not enough for me to survey every inch of KK. Of course one of the main factor is that I am not really familiar with the road even KK roads are well to understand and easy to remember. Our doctor friend , Dr Alex of Normah Medical Specialist Center proposed to us to pay a visit to LOK KAWI WILDLIFE PARK, 14 km from KK.. Driving through hilly terrains and curved road...Its really the best ever place we had ever visited on the 4th day of our stay in KK.

Please follow me through this adventure via photo shot imaginations:
(Actually I have uploaded this photos to FB but it would be better if those photos have a story attached to it!)

This elephant ride cost us RM5 per person for three cycles in which each cycle is around 20 meters. My daughter really enjoy this event. She not even wanted to remove herself from the seat... Next time my dear we  have another ride again soon.....

This is the signboard located in front of the entrance to the wildlife park. There was a small building that house the payment counter and also souvenir shops..

The skeleton profile here was belong to one of the animal but I could not remember what animal it was. My daughter, Ellisha was in deep focus on the skeleton. I think she might be wondering what animal is that uhhhh.. Luckily she was not so afraid as she normally did when encountered such new things.... Well...

Taking a photo shot before walking deep into the park. It is about 4-5 km tar sealed road circling the park. We have to walk along the road after this so save your energy...

A part of the forest preservation, the park also established a botanical garden which showcased beautiful but rare species of flowers, orchids, trees etc. We did not manage to go there as the size of the garden are really big and we may not have time to scale all the place if we do that. After all our mission is to look for animals...

There were few animal available at the park. proboscis monkey as well as ermmm .. cant remember wha animal is that oh ya.. the the animal that has a ring on its tail is called ring tail lemurs.. Similar to the one that we saw in the famous cartoon title "MADAGASCAR".. Ya it only found in Madagascar..

Another photo of Ring Tail Lemur and Capuchin Monkey.. (if I am not mistaken, correct me if I am wrong)..
This animal is called Ankole Cattle, a type of a buffalo normally found in Africa. A very big body posture and has a long horn that used to cold its body during hot weather condition. There more than 100 types of animal that we can see here in LOK KAWI. From small size to the biggest size...

Just that, in order to find them you need to observe carefully. Sometimes  you will not aware that a tiny animal like hummingbird flying next to your ears....Yup we really ENJOYED our time there and wish to make another visit again soon. This time we will make sure that  reach the park as early as  8am  as not to miss  the animal show which we missed most of the scenes during our first visit...Any friends who interested to go together with us on convoy trip, please let me know.. Maybe we can arrange some plans and make our journey more enjoyable with the participation of friends and families...
