Apart of Admiral Zheng He Statue, there are also some iconic structures that interest me well as appeared on the above direction signboard. This recreational parks were visited by many people who lived nearby. But this park are not for jogging activities as there is no proper protection between the pedestrian walkway and fish pond. Kinda dangerous if the runner makes wrong step.
This the Malaysia Mural. All States forming Malaysia were commemorated with significance landmarks icons crafted on the stone. Some statement in referred to each individual states crafted on square plates... I really admired those artworks.. Wonder how long it takes for each mural to complete?. For sure the crafter must be the one with artistic and precision touch in addition with patience and determination.
When you walk further up, you will find a square well. It is called a WISHING WELL. Make your wish and throw a coin inside the well. This is one of Chinese tradition as one of the way to send wishes to ALMIGHTY and pray the all the wishes will come true. However, it is only a matter symbolizing the true culture and tradition of the CHINESE where as they respect all people wishes by sharing their cultures to others. I don't say that by doing this, your wishes will definitely come true. But for me, throwing a coin inside the well after making wishes is one the way of respecting the culture of the Chinese. Not more than that. After all , we have to work hard to achieve what we want to be.. So far I did not meet any human who got rich just making a wish without working so hard..
Another structure built at Taman Sahabat is Sarawak Fountain, a seven cantilever shaped sculptures signify seven major ethnic group in Sarawak namely Malay, Chinese, Iban, Bidayuh, Melanau, Penan and Orang Ulu. This sculptures represent the the unity and strength of each ethnic that so far work together to reach one common goal., a nation with multi racial harmony, prosperity with economic and political stability.
