The Biggest and Smallest House in the World

Wow... The Biggest House ever built in the world....------Windsor Castle is a medieval castle and royal residence in Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, notable for its long association with the British royal family and its architecture. The original castle was built after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror
Since the time of Henry I it has been used by a succession of monarchs and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. The castle's lavish, early 19th-century State Apartments are architecturally significant, described by art historian Hugh Roberts as "a superb and unrivalled sequence of rooms widely regarded as the finest and most complete expression of later Georgian taste". The castle includes the 15th-century St George's Chapel, considered by historian John Robinson to be "one of the supreme achievements of English Perpendicular Gothic" design.

Originally designed to protect Norman dominance around the outskirts of London, and to oversee a strategically important part of the River Thames, Windsor Castle was built as a motte and bailey, with three wards surrounding a central mound. Gradually replaced with stone fortifications, the castle withstood a prolonged siege during the First Barons' War at the start of the 13th century. Henry III built a luxurious royal palace within the castle during the middle of the century, and Edward III went further, rebuilding the palace to produce an even grander set of buildings in what would become "the most expensive secular building project of the entire Middle Ages in England". Edward's core design lasted through the Tudor period, during which Henry VIII and Elizabeth I made increasing use of the castle as a royal court and centre for diplomatic entertainment.

Windsor Castle survived a tumultuous period during the English Civil War, in which the castle was used as a military headquarters for Parliamentary forces and a prison for Charles I. During the Restoration, Charles II rebuilt much of Windsor Castle with the help of architect Hugh May, creating a set of extravagant, Baroque interiors, still praised today. After a period of neglect during the 18th century, George III and George IV renovated and rebuilt Charles II's palace at colossal expense, producing the current design of the State Apartments, full of Rococo, Gothic and Baroque furnishings.
More than 500 people live and work in Windsor, making it the largest inhabited castle in the world.

But in the other side, there are some people chose to stay in a tiny house.

Say hello to Jay Shafer. He’s the creator and resident of the smallest house in the world, which he has proudly named Tumbleweed. Jay is an artist and architect, who lives in his home near San Francisco. He sells plans for, and builds, tiny homes in sizes ranging from an extremely small 50 square feet to a practically roomy 500 square feet.Jay has been living in a house smaller than some people’s closets since 1997. Can you imagine living in something so small for so long?

Jay’s decision to inhabit just 96 square feet arose from his concerns he had about the impact a larger house would have on the environment, and because he does not want to maintain a lot of unused or unusable space. Basically, he’s a tree hugger. Truly inspirational or just plain nuts. What do you think guys?
Since completing Tumbleweed, Jay has continued to make little buildings, which are available to purchase from his website, Tumbleweed Houses.

12:12AM.. WONDERFUL HOUSE DESIGN

I was pretty boring today as my wife went outstation for official duty. So I called my old friend, Sofrie to accompany me to buy some plants, fertilizers and top soils from landscape nursery for my gardening works tomorrow. We wen to FATA GARDEN located on the BDC Housing Scheme. This nursery is quite isolated from public views so only those regular customers are familiar with this nursery. Sofrie who used to be a regular customer led me to these nursery. While we are on the way to our targeted location, some housing scheme really caught my attention since I am a house design enthusiast.
The was one detached house really interest me. With great landscape and the choice of color scheme, this house looked perfectly blended with surroundings. Its designer really took into details on all aspects for perfect design from the choice of color, overall architectural appreciation even the breeze aspect of wind by providing gaps on its fencing and gates. I am not really understand the reading of Feng SHUI or YIN & YANG in  designing the building but I knew from the design of this house, the owner really take much care and consideration on this two aspects.
